Home Improvement Pixie

As soon as I got home from Vegas, I immediately got to work on fixing up the house that my boyfriend and I closed on a week and a half ago now. I have been to Lowe's and Home Depot more times this week than I think I have ever been in my whole life.

While there is still lots to do, I feel like I'm finally making some headway. I managed to finish removing all of the wallpaper from the day-glow green room. What a chore that was!! Tedious and way too much like cornertime. In fact, I spent so much time staring at that wall, I think I should be excused from receiving any cornertime for the next two months. Don't you agree?

Today we finished priming the vampire room. The most fun part for me was sitting up in the TV hutch to paint the inside. It's the little things that amuse me so.

Also managed to get the living room completely painted and the phone/cable/internet service connected. Now I can spend as much time at the new house as I want without going through internet withdrawal.

Tomorrow will be another full day of spackling, sanding, painting and shopping for un-fun things like a dehumidifier (yawn) and a Shop-Vac (double yawn). But maybe on a break from all the "excitement" we can take a minute or two to explore the woodshed. :)

Welcome to home ownership, Pixie!

(You look very cute in the TV hutch!)

You better do a top-notch job, or you will get spackled.

hi Pixie,

One of lifes great joys is creating a space where you feel comfortable. The work getting there might be a pain but I am sure it will all be worth it in the end.

I hope you have many, many happy times (and smacked bottoms) in your new home.

Se I can communicate with you without he mention of jammies. DOH!

I definitely have to agree with you-- no corner time. Woodshed is much better for that. ;) I love redoing things... watching the transformation and knowing that i made it is really cool.

Sorry....corner time is coming for Pixie. Eric gave her a three month reprieve. That is coming to an end. Corner time for you too little Miss Chloe.

Mark - Home Ownership = Home Depot, eh? Forever??

Dave - Please sir, not a spackling!

Dr. Ken - Let's not get spackling and spanking mixed up. That could get very messy.

007 - No major mishaps yet (knock on wood). Only a minor unfortunate incident with an old 900 lb TV that was left by the previous owner. Seems that TVs don't much care for a bumpy ride down the stairs.

Paul - I can't wait until it feels like ours. It is in title, but I still have to consciously remind myself that this will very soon be more than a house, but my home.

mike - Oooh! A vote for 8 months without cornertime? I like the sound of that. I wouldn't dream of asking to go without spankings that long because I know there is no chance of that ever happening.

It is very handy to be able to fit into small spaces (TV hutches, windows, suitcases, etc). Of course when it comes time to reach a glass on the top shelf, it's not so great. :)

padme - I can't wait for it all to start coming together and looking like a comfy place to stay. I really wish you were able to come to Vegas for SL. Maybe you'll be able to join us next time around?

Chloe - 2 votes for no corner time. Let's keep the trend going. Goodness, all this talk about the woodshed. It's still warm out, but I guess it's never too early to start stock piling logs for the woodstove ... ;)

David - Actually, I had a 5 month reprieve. One for each month of the website that I had to restore following our crash. I'm going to have to find some other good deed to do to earn another few months off or simply find a way to bribe Chloe into doing all my time for me.

Pixie,

Do you really have a woodshed? I've always fantasized about getting in trouble along with the girl next door & were both taken by the ear by her mother out to the woodshed for some very severe discipline. I've also loved that motherly line "When I get through with you young man/young lady, you won't be able to sit down for a week!
You do look very cute in the tv hutch! You must have been a champ at Hide and Seek when you were a child.

Congrats on getting into your new Home, and being a busy Homemaker!

Smile* Pixie! You're doing just great! Cute pics!

Best part about moving house happens about a year after you have moved in,when you you remember those boxes of stuff marked "unimportant" that got put in the spare room/celler/ attic and forget about in all the rush. Then you get to rediscover all those odds, sods and souveniers that you forgot you had. Just like having Christmas in June.

Chloe, my dear brat, the "Troublement Twins" should get much corner time. At least that way we know where you are.

Great to see that you are making your home your own. You will have a tremendous sense of achievement when you have finished - even if there is a lot of boring work along the way. You may have been up against the wall a lot - but the sense of a job well done at the end makes it worthwhile - which is just not the same as cornertime - which is meant to be inactive so that you can simply brood over misdeeds either before or after (or instead of) a spanking. So no - no time off cornertimes!

Love the piccie of the hatch - even allowng for you being a tiny Pixie it must accommodate a rather large TV...:)

By the by, I don't think "Troublement" (vide DP) has anything like the evocative sound of "Troublemint".

And please - what is "spackling" - I can't find it in any of my dictionaries.

Keep up the good work, Pixie - don't spend too much time in the woodshed.....

Hmmm.... while you were being productive, I was watching the two latest DVDs from the Punished Brat spanking factory acquired at the PB Brat table at Shadow Lane.

Instead, I should have been doing my home improvement projects. Thank goodness there are no male brats in your world.

By the way, those videos are hilarious. The plots are so funny and your spanked bottoms are so cute.

Tim - Yep, I really do have a woodshed. The previous owners painted it, but I think it still qualifies. woodshed

Bill - No doubt. I saw some paint stirrers that must be used to stir large vats that were almost as large as fraternity paddles! Maybe Home Depot isn't such a boring place to shop after all.

Prefectdt - There will probably be lots of forgotten treasures in the coming years. Both my boyfriend and I tend to border on being packrats.

Winchester - No time off cornertime? Hmph. I'll ask the judges to strike this from the record. ;-)

Troublemint Twin comes from the Doublemint Twins commercials for Wrigley's gum. We will double your trouble.

Spackling is a type of paste used to fill cracks and holes in walls. Definitely don't want to spank with spackle!

Braddy - Glad you enjoyed the DVDs!! But I hope they won't distract you too much from completing your to-do list. Tsk.

Pretty much, although it tapers off a bit when you run out of money {grin}

On the other hand, whenever you go, you can pick up some of the paint stick which are so handy for other things {WEG}
