Windows

Although I never much cared for history class in school, I love cultural history, especially local history. I'm fortunate to live in a historic district where I can take a walk on a beautiful day and see homes, mills, and other buildings, or at least what remains of them, from the 1700s and 1800s.

My favorite part of the buildings is the windows. I love to look through and wonder how different the view would have been when the building was in its prime.

I've even been known to curl up in one myself! I have to say though that rock and concrete does not make the most comfortable window seat. :)

Oh what fantabulous photos Pixie!

Just gorgeous...

I, myself, live in an area much the same, though many of the old timey landmarks are giving way to, 'Colonizing' purposes.

I can just imagine that window being opened and someone's name being hollered out from it, perhaps a someone who would be making a quick trip up to Mama and Papa's bedroom, or even out to the woodshed. Just gets your spanko juices flowing doesn't it?

But that last picture with you in the window is so adorable! Too cute honey. Though I can see how tight a fit that must have been for you.

Heh, you are a bitty little thing aren't you? Makes me think I could just scoop you up without nary a problem. You, my dear, are what spankers dream of, and for.

Hope you continue to be able to enjoy all that delightful scenery for as long as possible.

Be blessed today, tomorrow, and always.

I can easily imagine that - for example - behind that window of the first photo a considerable amount of spankings took place..
"Go to the attic..!! I'll be with you shortly..!!"
A passer by who heard those words patiently waited...
And soon the crisp sounds of a firm bare bottom spanking could be heard emerging from the attic...

I have no voyeuristic feelings, but gosh would I have loved it to peek into the window when that happened.. :-)

Wow... you're so lucky to live where you do! Here in the desert, there just wasn't around here before air conditioning. It's very pretty, of course... but you don't get that sense of... someone was standing right here 250 years ago, looking out this window.

Great photos... really enjoyed your Little Red Pixie post too.

Lee - thank you! Sadly the farmland around me is slowly being developed into cookie cutter houses, but thankfully many areas are also protected as historic districts or wildlife reserves.

Yes, you most likely could scoop me up without a problem. Despite my best efforts and my feats of brute force strength ;-) I've found myself picked up and easily hauled off quite a few times!

Kallisto - thanks! May I ask where you've seen the photo before? This is the first time I've posted it anywhere and I had only shown 2 people the photo when I first took it back in March. I'm just wondering how it might have gotten out.

Richard - thank you (blush)

Funbun - history can be so much fun with a little added imagination like yours!

David - thank you. :)

Todd & Suzy - Yes, I imagine that Arizona would not be a good place to live before AC especially with all of the heavy, conservative clothing they wore back a couple centuries ago! But I would certainly love to visit there myself nowadays. And I'm very flattered that you like my photos!

HSP - Thank you very much. I just began reading your blog today following the link from Journey from the Darkside. I hope it's ok that I add your blog to my list of links. :)

Very nice! I like shooting old houses/barns myself. Here in New England we have some. I'd like to try some soon in black & white. Great pics and great blog!

I have to agree with Lee, absolutely beautiful pictures...and you in that window is certainly adorable! The dress you were wearing really makes the picture even more beautiful (imagine how different it would look if you were wearing jeans, etc)!

Thank you so much everyone! I'm so flattered that you enjoy my photos, both those that I'm in and those that I'm not.

Emilie, you may be right about the dress versus jeans. I gave my mom a print of that particular photo and she hung it in her cubicle at work. A male coworker of hers was at her desk, saw the picture, asked who it was, complimented my legs, and then tried to tilt and angle his head as if he would be able to have a look up my skirt! My mom caught him and teased him about it. :)

Hi Pixie, I am trying to remember where I saw the photo, and I am not having much luck. If I figure out where I saw it, I will be sure to let you know. My only other thought is, did you ever take a similar photo before? Maybe I just thought this one is the one I saw?

Pixie you have some of the nicest photos I've scene. I live in an area rich in history dating at to the revolution times. Much of the areas you take pictures in remind me of where I live. I record old barns the way you photograph windows. Funny thing I've never discovered any gorgeous wood nymphs like you in any of them.
Keep up the good work.

Kallisto - maybe it's the window photo I posted in this blogpost? It's the same building but a different window I'm peeking out of. I do love windows! :)

Poppa - thank you so much! Old barns are great too. Keep your eyes peeled because I've been known to check them out as well.

I think that's it! I guess I just remembered you in a window, and thought it was the same photo. Both are great, in any case!
