If you've even just glanced at my blog before, I'm pretty sure you already know that I love the outdoors. If it's warm and sunny, odds are I'm outside somewhere exploring the woods, biking, rollerblading, or kayaking. Today was just one of the most beautiful, perfect days with temperatures in the mid-70s and clear blue skies. No way I could stay indoors.
I headed over to one of my usual stomping grounds, but then decided to take a detour and see if I could locate a little hidden patch of woods with a challenging summit trail I'd read about. Despite being navigationally challenged, I managed to find the spot and skipped into the woods, excited to explore my new playground.
Nothing but beautiful woods and streams around me for miles.
Spring flowers pushing up through last year's fallen leaves.
I had a wonderful time, but I am pretty sure I'll be paying for it later. You see, I didn't happen to mention to anyone where I was going and this was unknown territory I was exploring alone. Probably not the smartest move, but my independent spirit and love of adventure clouds my judgement sometimes. My boyfriend worries when I just go for a walk at one of my usual, more populated areas, so this is not going to go over well at all. Do I confess? Do I just vaguely say I went for a walk today? No, there's always the follow up question of where. Hmmmm. I have a feeling there will be a "discussion" to follow our discussion next time I see him. :-(

Best to have a unburdened soul and a sore bottom.

Seems like you just did confess... though, not sure if your boyfriend reads your blog? If not, you should turn yourself in. If you don't, you'll feel guilty and end up doing something else to get spanked anyway.
It's neat that you have such out of the way spots to explore. Your pictures look wonderful. A great place to hike. Just have to be safe about it!

Doh. ;) Ah well, you got some great scenery pics out of it. Glad you had time to go walking. Hope you're doing well.
Brad D. - I did tell him truthfully what I had done, but thankfully my worry was unfounded as he didn't get too upset this time around.
Dav - Haha. Thanks! I am so incredibly happy when I'm outdoors exploring the woods.
Todd & Suzy - My boyfriend knows about my blog, but I don't believe that he reads it regularly. But I was truthful and upfront with him. You're so right. I don't lie well anyway.
I'm also very lucky to live out in the sticks a bit and find neat places to hike. I really do love where I live.
007 - I had a great time. Glad you like the scenery pics. I think nature is always amazing and beautiful.
